Rev. Fr. Legrand, M.E.P, with the permission of the then Bishop of Salem, Rt. Rev. Dr. Bosco Duraisamy invited the FSM to help the village people in Christupalayam in bettering their health care facilities and initiating education of the girl child. Thus began the mission work at Christupalayam on May 30, 1990.

Christupalayam is a small village with a Parish Church of about 150 catholic families and May 28, 1991 Sunday is an unforgettable day for the family of the FSM. It was on this day that Most. Rev. Michael Bosco Duraisamy, the then Bishop of Salem and the Regional Superior of the FSM of Bangalore Province, Sr. Mary Pauline gave a warm welcome and inaugurated the newly built house. Sr. Auxilia was the first animator while Srs. Pragasam and Priscilla were the community members.

The Sisters are involved in the education of the children of the surrounding villages and work in collaboration with the diocesan school. To improve the literacy rate of the surrounding villages which are far away from the school and to encourage and facilitate more girl children, a boarding for girls has been initiated thereby providing them with good care and imparting holistic education.

Seeing the growing need of the sick and suffering people around, a dispensary to providing free medical help to the poor has also been started.

The sisters are involved in various activities of the parish, namely teaching catechism, visiting homes of villagers irrespective of caste or creed.
