Loving Tribute to Sr. Mary Theresa.

A golden heart stopped beating,

                     Hardworking hands at rest

God broke our hearts to prove to us

                                       He only takes the best.

Yes, Sr. Mary Theresa, you lived fully for Christ till the last breath. A mixed feeling wells up in our minds as we recall our beloved Sr. Mary Therese.

Before you were born in your mother’s womb, I knew you. Jer., 1:5

Triscilla Pinto, who was named Sr. Mary Theresa bloomed on 9th March 1933 as the second child of Mr. Marcel Pinto and Mrs. Milly Pinto among six siblings in Jos Villa, Mangalore. She belonged to Milagris Parish. As a young girl, she had great devotion to the Holy Eucharist. She used to go for regular Holy Mass along with her dear parents and loved ones.

Having been born in a very faith filled and loving Christian family, she was attracted by the life of FSM sisters.  Responding to  the whispering of God’s voice she joined FSM on  21st June 1953in Mangalore, Nazareth Convent and  being faithful to her call, she made her First vows on 21st December 1955  and she offered herself totally for the service of the Lord forever on 27th  April 1961. She had great devotion for the Holy Eucharist. She spent hours in the presence of the beloved who called her.  Drawing strength from the Lord she did her service joyfully and meticulously as an animator, Head Mistress of Nazareth Kindergarten School, Mangalore, St. Joseph   Kindergarten School, Karwar, Home Science Teacher, Hostel Warden & Pastoral service. She was very faithful in teaching Catechism for young children and prepared them for Holy Communion for many years and did distribution of Holy Communion.  She was skilled in oil painting. She attracted thousands of young minds and hearts by her beautiful smile & dedicated service. She had been a ladder to the students to climb higher in the society. Many students remember her with fond memories and they used to visit her often.

By seeing her joy filled & committed religious life her brother Fr. Sunith Prabhu was inspired to dedicate himself for the service of the Lord in Congregation of Society of Jesus.

She has served in Mangalore, Karwar, Vittal & Nainadu. Her entire life was marked by God’s providential care and guidance and she did everything under the gaze of God like our Mother Foundress, mother Marie St. Clare.

She was very grateful to everyone who does a little service to her with a smile. Since last 15 days her health had declined and on 8th May early morning she embraced sister death to be with the Lord  forever .

So today we render thanks to God for all that she accomplished and we surrender her to the Lord so that she may live in His presence forever .Our hearts are filled with gratitude to  her beloved family , who enquired about her health & visited her often, brought her a lot of joy and solace.

Heartfelt thanks for our Superior General Rev.  Sr. Reetha Paul, our Provincial           Rev. Sr. Miriam and their councillors who were so much concerned about the health of our sister and visited her with much love & concern.
