FSM responded to the invitation of Rev. Fr. Lijo Chittilapilly, the then parish priest of Vadanapally. Srs. Rose Mary, the animator, Rosily and Reena Francis, the first members of this new community started this mission.

The convent was opened by Rev. Fr. Paul Alapatt, the Chancellor of Trichur Diocese and the then Provincial Sr. Paula, on 6th May 2006. A rented house became a temporary home while the foundation for the new convent and the nursery school was laid on November 20, 2006.

On May 28, 2007 the convent named ‘Virginie Villa’ was blessed and inaugurated by Archbishop Mar Andrews Thazhath. Sr. Miriam, the Provincial Superior graced the occasion.

At present two sisters work in the Kindergarten while one of them commits her day in the Home Science Centre where underprivileged women and young girls learn to be the future home makers. There is a full time vocation promoter while another sister is engaged in developmental programmes for women of the coastal area.

The charism of Mother Foundress to reach out to the poor especially young women is thus realized as we witness and rejoice in the growth of the children and women.
