The mission in Hosur was started in 1962 in response to the appeal of the people of Hosur to open a Kindergarten School to help the people, in the field of education. Except for a very few Christians most of the people were either Hindus or Muslims.

With the generous help and contribution of the local people they started the school in 1962. When a community in Mathigiri was started in 1963, the sisters working in Hosur were asked to join that community. The sisters came to the school by bullock cart or by bicycle or on foot.
It makes a difference when dedicated and committed souls take up a task. Gradually the elementary school was approved by the government.

It was only in 1976 that the convent was built with the generous aid of the Sisters in France and benefactors from Belgium. The dedicated selfless service of the Sisters was appreciated and the management was obliged to upgrade the school into a middle school in 1979.

With the passing of time, Hosur has grown to become an industrial town with various corporate sectors starting their industrial units in Hosur. The number of children in the town was growing; the parents were keen that the school be upgraded to the 10th standard and this was realized in 1998 while in 2006 it was upgraded to the 12th standard.

With the mushrooming of factories in the industrial area of Hosur there was an urgent need of a hostel for working women. True to the charism of Mother Foundress, Sr. Therese Marie worked relentlessly to build a hostel which was opened in February 1986. The hostel is able to accommodate about 60 unmarried working women. At present there are 40 young girls with a Sister as warden and guide.

We work in collaboration with the Tamilnadu Domestic Workers Movement to promote and protect the life of the domestic workers in Hosur. We work towards obtaining all the welfare schemes available from the Government as well as from the employers. Domestic workers and women in distress are empowered to organize themselves as women of courage, confidence and conviction.

The community takes an active part in the pastoral and social activities by visiting families, aged people and patients in the government hospital. All the above mentioned apostolate helps us to proclaim the unconditional love of Christ especially to the poor and the down trodden. Thus, the sisters are happy to identify themselves with the poor according to the spirit of our Mother Foundress.
